August 31, 2012

HEY!!!! It's been a long while! I have serious internet issues down here! We are still at Corinth, MS. We were blessed with a great place to rent at a great price! There are 8 horses out here. 2 were here when we got here. They are Booger (he's 30) and Buttercup (she's 17). So we care for them. 3 horses are Tom's (a friend) and of course Bob & Casey. Still having a time with Bob's weight. He'll put some on and the next thing you know...back to the hips n ribs. Any suggestions? We could sure use a load of good alphalfa hay! It won't grow down here. Made him good and fat and healthy before. He does NOT enjoy the pellets!!! Anyway, the 8th horse is a little filly that we rescued. She's probably a little over a year old and she was starving. We call her Baby Girl. She's getting better every day. You can still see ribs but her backbone no longer protrudes!! She's just tiny. When she's all better, she'll make a great riding horse. So, we hope that you all still pray for us and the journey. We still get plenty of prayer requests and ask that you just keep all of the people we come in contact with in your prayers as well. God knows who they are. Our grandson Isaac was born the 29th. Funny, they picked the name Isaac months ago and he hit land the same day as the hurricane! My daughter said she hopes it's not prophetic about his behavior! He's having some trouble with fluid in his lungs and has to stay in NICU for a bit, so prayers for him would be appreciated. Thank you. Got to get to chores now. The hens just started laying so they are getting plenty of my attention. Their little eggs are just the cutest. God bless and I'll try to get back on as soon as I can. Faith! P.S. So far we have only had sprinkles and breezes from the hurricane. Thank you for your concern. I'll let you know if there is any trouble from that!

July 7th

Hi! Me again! Still working on uploading pictures. Two problems...1. They all have to be resized and that takes time. 2. I'm having a heck of a time getting a good signal. But I'll get it done! I have a prayer request from Tony & Shonda. Tony's mom had a stroke yesterday and is in pretty bad shape. No left side movement, slurred speech, some damage to the brain, etc...They have asked for prayer for a full recovery for her. Thanks. Comments: Terri, Crickette, & Rachel...thanks for the encouraging words and I'll still get to the blog whenever possible. It's not over til it's over! God bless you all. Please keep holding us up in prayer, and all the others! Faith

July 5th

Hi all! Well, we got all moved over to our new place! Exciting but, lots of work! Mark was so excited to have space that he set up a wagon ride for the 4th and then ended up having to work! But...5 wagons and 3 riders came anyway. We went ahead and rode for about 3 1/2 hours leaving Bob & Casey behind in the barn. When the gear started coming out for the other horses, Bob stayed WAY back in his stall. I think he was glad to see us all drive away without him. There were 3 teams of mules in the mix and what a nice peaceful ride it was. I took LOTS of pictures so I'll be posting them as I resize and edit. We are renting a farm that has a 9 stall barn, 10 fenced acres, a HUGE shed (60 feet), and 3 catfish ponds! With living quarters!!! And we didn't even find it! It found us! God just always watches over us! I have a prayer request from MI. Our good friends Larry and Linda need rain!! So, if everyone could pray with us for rain in Perry, MI so the beans don't burn up in the field, it would be greatly appreciated! Comments: Mike...HEY!!! Nice to hear from you!! We think of you guys every time we see chickory coffee (which is often down here)! Glad all is good for you and I'll try to get back to blogging more as we get more settled. Crickette...All is well here. How are you doing? Better? Joan...Big kisses to both! Thanks Rachel... glad you love the new place! We love ours too! I need to go shovel stalls so I'll keep everyone posted on our progress here! God bless! Faith

June 27, 2012

Hi all! Just a quick update. We'll be moving again shortly. Hopefully in the next couple of days. A little farther south but still considered Corinth, I think. Anyway, 10 acres, 2 catfish ponds (I never did catch Newman!), barn...and very affordable. God just never stops blessing and caring for us! I miss getting messages from you all! Rachel and Crickette, I got yours! Thanks for staying in touch. Rachel, enjoy the new beginning! God bless you all! Faith

Days 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252 & 253

Hi! Sorry for the HUGE delay! The first couple of days there just wasn't any new news. Then we had a flurry of fun stuff! We had a missionary at church on Sunday. We went to lunch with him and his family after morning service. Mmmmm... Chinese! Anyway, they have sold everything and are traveling in a 5th wheel camper. We saw some similarities in their story and ours so we really wanted to spend some time chatting. Then on Monday, Brother Bill showed them where we are and they came down and asked if we wanted to cook out in the evening! We had a great time! They taught us how to play "Skipbo" (Linda & Larry, no wonder you play that! It was a blast!) and we visited until midnight. They are traveling the U.S. and then bound for Papua, New Guinea. They are actually missionaries to the missionaries. The HUGE difference between our stories is, of course the New Guinea part, but...they also have 2 little ones! 2 years and a 6 month old! Good thing God is great!! Please, keep them and their travels and ministry in your prayers. They are, Stacy and Katrina Meadows, along with Desirae, and Charity. Thanks! On Monday, some men that Mark met through Tom Dixon, brought over a small buckboard! For exercising purposes. Then on Tuesday, Tom trailered his horse over and we hitched up and went for an experiment ride! The little wagon has no brakes so we were a little leary of the route we would take because there are hills everywhere in this area. But after a 4 month layover, Bob and Casey did great! The wagon has chains in front instead of the heavy wood (yoke) like the covered wagon. It worked just fine for them. Even tho it was very hot out, they weren't really working. The wagon only weighs about 300 lbs. So, basically, they were just out for a walk. They remembered everything they were supposed to do. They held back on the downhills and stopped in the shade on the uphills and never even breathed hard! We were so proud of them. Tom rode his horse along with us and they didn't even mind that! Hanging around in a pasture next to 3 other horses must have helped. Luckily, we crossed the railroad tracks JUST before a train came so we didn't have to test THAT monster! I have a feeling that might have been a bad thing. THEN!!!!! Bob and Casey got new summer haircuts! They are CLEAN! It took a minute to get used to but they are lookin' good!! As soon as we get our camera back (lent out) we'll surely post their pictures. They are soooo much more comfortable. They sweat so bad under there plus, there were a couple of ticks that we never would have found! They are so cute! But they really do look like a couple of kids that just got their summer buzz cut! Other than that, we just keep on keeping on. Comments: Sandi and Crickette...thank you for your continued prayers. We hope that everyone of you have an excellent day! God bless and stand! Faith

Day 245

Hi there! Not much new today. I went over to TSC and got the kids some piranha. Thanks, again, Terri. They will be so much more comfortable. And I couldn't resist getting them their favorite apple treats while I was there! And the co-op for oats n weet feed... It's a never ending cycle! But they are happy:) It's church night! That's an awesome thing! I have a couple more prayer requests! Sharen, to be done once and for all with the biopsies! Crickette, to be healed and well! All tests giving exact results! And for Jackie's mom. She is 97 years old and had to have her leg removed. Last I heard, she was in recovery. Comments: Crickette...praying for you! Stay well! That's it for now. Y'all have a great day! God bless!

Days 243 & 244

Good morning! Hope all is well! It is here. Bob and Casie took themselves for a stroll last night! That darn Casie! She is an escape artist. Even tho the gate to the pen was chained and tied, she got through it. Know how????? She lifted it off the hinges!! Unfortunately for her, it only lead to another pasture, which lead to another pasture! Problem? The gate of the 3rd pasture was open. So they walked around down here by us then into the neighbors yard, where, once again, they were fooled into being caught with the oat buckets. Ahhhhh... some things never change. Thank you Lord! Today is work inside day so I'll be busy all day! So much to do always. I would like to ask for prayer for John. He will be battling demons this next week and it's not going to be easy or pretty. And for Crickette to get well from conflicting meds. Thank you. Comments: Terri...thanks so much! I'll get some today. Poor guys:( Crickette...I wish you would have asked for prayer sooner! We could have helped! Glad you're getting better:) That's it for now! I hope you all have an awesome day! God bless

Day 242

Hello again! It has been a beautiful Sunday! The music on the hill last night was awesome! The Dalton Gang from Tennessee was there. The church band played! And Jack quartet sang! Then some good preaching and what a great night we had!! Then we had a relaxing afternoon. We were thinking about people having to work on Sundays and that when we were kids, nothing was even open on Sundays! Anyway, we decided that we aren't shopping on Sundays anymore. Just a personal choice ;) This morning in church, we had a guest preacher. He was talking about what faith is. He said it's not jumping off into the dark hoping for God to help. He said it's hearing what God tells you to do and doing it. Then he mentioned Noah building the boat and Abraham leaving Ur. Sounded kind of familiar!! I think we might have gotten that part right! Thank you Lord!! Just an act of obedience. Well, that's about it. Bob and Casie got moved today. The flies are eating them up!! Anybody know of any sure fire repellent? Haven't had much luck with these sprays and now it's horse flies! Thanks in advance for any tips on that! We were asked to prayer for Shondas' cousin. She overdosed and is in a coma. Her mom is to arrive at the hospital tomorrow and they are hoping her voice will help. Comments: Sandi...it was a beautiful day! We missed the grads at church tonight :( God bless everyone and keep the faith! Good night!

Days 239, 240 & 241

Hi all! Hope everything is going well! We are good. No new varmint sightings!! That's a good thing!! No big fish catching either :( Some day!!! Moving horses to newer grass and going to the hill we lived on for a while to hear some good singing and preaching! Doesn't get much better than that! No new prayer requests. Comments: Sandi...Thanks. Blessings to you as well. Terri...Thanks. Been thinking about the road and the fine folks we met. I was just thinking of the day we met you! God bless you girlfriend! That's it for today. God bless you all and have a great day! Faith

Days 237 & 238

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well! I still haven't caught that catfish (Newman) but I DID hit him in the back with my bait, sinkers & bobber! He just swirled around and continued on. Didn't even leave the area!! This is going to be war before it's over! Mark caught a nice bass tho! Now, the other thing that got caught was a 5 1/2 foot long chicken snake!! GROSS! He was about 2 feet away from the neighbors little dog. UGH! I HATE snakes! And I don't really care which ones are the "good" ones! They are ALL serpents to me! Someone told us to put golf balls in the laying boxes in the chicken coop. So, if we get eggs everyday, the chicken snakes will eat the golf balls and eventually die from them. Anyone else ever hear anything like that? We also have a water moccasin (cottonmouth) living up here in the tree somewhere! We see him swimming across the pond every now and then. Booooooo!! I also had a chance to get in the wagon (it cooled down to the 70's) and get it all straightened up. It is now ready to be repacked. I can start with the winter stuff and get it all stored and packed in. Then...when the Lord says go, we're close to going! Everybody is getting antsy. Sugar Rae keeps escaping from the camper and one day she chewed everything in sight! That would include the wire to the phone charger :( Luckily I have a son that leaves things behind when he visits! He got a new phone and left the USB cord to his old one so I can use it! Even a bad signal is better than no signal at all! And to think we were going to go phone-less on this journey! We still meet people everyday and keep our eyes open for the God things. You know, the only works that are good works are the ones that come from God. The rest are just good deeds! That's a hard one to get settled in your brain. Not that there's anything wrong with good deeds! It's always awesome to help someone out! We love to bless people and since we don't have much, acts of kindness are about all we can share. But we sure do have fun doing THAT!! So, please continue to pray for the folks on the prayer requests and we'll be right here. Today, we are going to the spring for water. Did I tell you that? The water here, where we are, is REALLY bad! So,everyone saves gallon jugs and there are different places around that have natural spring water running from tubes/ pipes. Just go and fill your jugs. No cost. They aren't even public service areas. You just have to know where to go! We know about 3 of them now. And always good, fresh water! So, that's the big chore for the day! God bless and have a great day! Faith!

Days 231, 232, 233, 234, 235 & 236

Hi there! Sorry for the no posts! I'm adding 2 today because I started one last Tuesday and didn't post it. So, if it looks like it's not finished...it wasn't. Sorry for that. We've been busy!! There are alot of things going on down here this time of year, Plus, Mark has been helping a young man that we met with some issues. We did finally get that chicken coop live-able. Still have to make a permanent house door and their laying boxes, but the yard is all done, including wire over the top so the hawks don't get them! They are so cute in there! They follow Mark around like little kids. We have lots of prayer requests! Bill's mom Brenda passed away. Please pray for the family to have peace and comfort. Gary's sister is battling addictions and bondage. Tony, for his health. Joel and Melinda are pregnant! SURPRISE!! Pray that that sinks in ;) John needs prayer for addictions. Sharen for more cancer tests! Last time!!! OK? David will be starting a new page in life. Pray that there is comfort there. David is also having his other knee replaced! The last one went well and recovery was miraculous! Thank you for those prayers! Nate, moving on and away from family with his new family. Comments: Crickette...Still fishin'! Rachel...When we first met, your move seemed like a long way off. Now it's already time! Enjoy! Sandi...Thanks Cheryl...We better call that boy! It's been a while! We're still in MS. Margie...Thanks Don...yes, no, NO!, yes, yes. LOL! We're doing good. The catfish does NOT have any interest in being caught and now a bunch of ducks moved in so I haven't even seen him in days! Bob and Casie are good. They are eating grass, hay, oats...gonna start back mixing in sweet feed and see if the weight improves more. Thanks to all of you that continue to follow even when I don't hold up my end. I really will try to do better! God bless and have a great day!

Days 225, 226, 227, 228, 229 & 230

Good morning! Well, the chicken coop is almost done. What a project THIS has been! When you build wagons, you don't have to worry about predators going under over over or through! Just keep the rain out and store your stuff! But...I think they're safe now. We are still meeting so many nice people here. Sunday, we went to a place that they call 1st Monday. 1st Monday happens the Saturday and Sunday before the 1st Monday of each month. It is a HUGE auction and flea market. By the time we got there they were pretty much packed and leaving, tho. I think because it was so darn hot that people just didn't come out. Next time we'll try Saturday, early!

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Days 222, 223 & 224

Good morning! It's been a couple of days again. Not a lot going on. We were on the search for hay (again). The one guy ran out and it's that time of year! End of the old and waiting to bale the new. Good thing the guys are in the big pasture! But we found some (Thank you Lord!) So bread making and hay chasing is the order of the day! I never did catch that huge cat fish. He is now my nemesis! He acts like a big old muskee! You can hit him in the head with your bait and he ignores you. Hmmmmm....maybe a she??? I think it's spawning time. Anyway, time to go feed everybody and get this day rolling! We sure appreciate you all! Comments: Crickette...That's what I've heard about fresh chicken. Being a vegetarian, I'll have to take Marks word for it. :) Sandi...Thank you Terri...HEY!! Long time, no hear! Thank you so much! Joan...AWESOME!!!! God bless and have a great day!

Days 219, 220 & 221

Good evening all! Sad news to start. Gina's mom passed away on April 25th. But I know that she is standing in the glory of the Lord in her new body and feeling 5000% now! Gina, our prayers are with you and your family while you heal. The last couple of days have been fun filled. NOT! Lots of work to do. Casie and Bob got moved to the big pasture but we had to run fences to keep ours from theirs. The chicken coop is coming along famously...but slow. Did you know that chickens lay down on their sides? I did not know that. I thought one was hurt when I saw it's leg sticking out from under it. Nope. Just having a rest! If you remember when we first got here, we met David Dodd. He came out on a cart with his 2 oxen. Well, he will be leaving this week on a journey of his own. With his oxen. 150 miles one way. So, please send your prayers with him for all the fun, joy & blessings that we received while we were out. He is a Christian man and just loves the Lord! Happy trails, David. See you in a few! That's all for tonight. On this, the Lord's day, in between services, we fished. And after. Awesome sabbath. God bless you all! Faith

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Days 216, 217 & 218

Good morning! It's been a busy couple of days! Casie is back to kicking gates and fences. The problem with that is that the fence is barbed wire! Sooooo, twice in one day she hooked the fence under her new shoe! We had to cut the fence, tie her and work it back out. So needless to say...we had to remove 2 strands of barbed wire from two pastures. Did I say we? I guess I meant Mark. Not so easy when it's not your fence! But, Mr. Haynes said go ahead since there is no reason for it to go all the way down to the ground. Most animals won't crawl under the fence ;). Especially when said animals are 17+ hands tall! We had a Birthday boy on Tuesday! I made him strawberry shortcake that didn't get eaten until last night! We always get in too late! But, it was a happy bday just the same. Got to catch a couple of blue gill. So, yesterday we were working on a chicken coop for the chickens that are here. They are half grown and getting BIG!! The coop is 10 X 20, and the yard is 20 X 30! Since there are only 8 of them, this might be considered over kill:) But, fun building. The last thing I built was the wagon so I'm a little out of practice. I had to relearn the "don't drop the 2X4's on Mark's head" the hard way. He'll be fine. I didn't really drop it on him. He thought he could hold it up higher with the end of his hammer (only 1 ladder). That didn't work out well in the end. So, off we go to finish it up and start fencing another pasture. That's the plan for the day. We do have a new prayer request. An unnamed 16 yr old girl that tried to commit suicide. We just pray that she finds her way to the Lord and all of His joy! Comments: Crickette...I'd play heck catching him anyway. Jusy sayin' Cindy...Sounds yummy! Cloe's...Amen! Sandi...Thanks! Don...Thanks, up and running again! See y'all soon! ;) God bless and have a great day! Faith

Day 211

Hi all!
Bob & Casie got their little feet done today!  They were not all that excited about it!  He just stood them in the driveway and when they were naughty, he used ropes.  Welllll, Casie finally got treated to a twitch, but other than that...He didn't get frustrated with them because he breaks horses to stand for shoeing.  He said today was a good lesson for them and they'll be better next time.
I saw a HUGE fish jump in the pond here today.  I better go out there soon and catch Mark some fresh dinner!
Today was bread making day!  Four loaves!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Four more tomorrow!
That's all that's new on this day.  We sure do appreciate you all!
Comments:
Crickette...Thanks.  He surely has been with us from day 1.
God bless!

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Days 207, 208, 209 & 210

Good evening!
Not much new here in MS!
Bob and Casey are in a pasture with real fence so for the first time in a loooooonnnnng time, they have their halters off!  They are so comfy!  They are eating everything that doesn't move fast enough to get out of their way.  While we were gone at church, they knocked down an old shelter that we hoped would be some shade for them.  We'll have to go out and see the extent of the damage in the daylight.
We are asking for prayer for Sandy Dodd.  She has some sort of disfunction going on in her stomach.  It's been going on for a long time and she keeps losing weight!
A salvation prayer for Billie Jo.
A prayer for comfort for Brother Bill. He lost a friend this past week.
For Denise, who also suffers from a stomach problem.  The same weight loss going on.
For Ashley, just for peace and to know she's loved by many.
And that's all for tonight.
Comments:
Sandi...Thank you!
So tomorrow's another day.  I found my recipes for bread and bagels!  Guess what I'm going to be doing?????  Mmmmmmmmm...fresh made bagels are the best!!
God bless you all and have a great day!

Days 203, 204, 205 & 206

Hi there!  Yes, we are still here!  Today we got to park down by the pond!  What a beautiful place to be!  Gotta look out for the water moccasins though!  UGH!
We have been having really bad reception here so blogging had been not so easy.  Some days I just let it go instead of waiting 1/2 hour to sign in.  BUT...we do have a very important prayer request!
Gina's mom had a mild heart attack after doing so well with the surgery.  Lots of not good things going on there!  She personally asked that Gina ask us all for prayer!  So, if we could all pray hard for her, she would greatly appreciate it!
Comments:
Crickette...awesome!  We'll keep praying!
Joan...We love you too!
Cloe's...Hope the baptisms go great!
Gotta go feed and move horses now.  Glad I could get checked in ;)
We appreciate every single one of you and all of your prayers!  Thank you so much!
God bless!  Have a great Sunday!

Day 202

Hi everyone!
Had a great cooler day!  Able to cook a little!
A couple more praise reports!
Bob Mesner (Crickette.s pastor) is coming along well but continued prayer would be helpful for him.
Gina's mom had her surgery today and came through great!  Some rehab and home!  Gina is very thankful for the prayer!
Cloe's...That is AWESOME!!!!  The best!!  Thank you for your prayers for us as well :)
Joan...we would never forget our "stalker"!  We're still here!
anon...I surely didn't recognize that address!  Do I miss you too?
That's about it!  I love praise reports!
I would like to ask for prayer for our son.  He sure is struggling.  He's been deployed twice and is having a time. Salvation is the answer!  Thanks!
God bless!

Day 200!!!!! and 201

Good morning!
We hope you all had a great Easter!  We surely did!  Church in the am then dinner with the Haynes then church in the evening then ice cream with Margaret, Glen and Robin!!  Thanks guys!
I see we've hit day 200!  Whoda thunk?!  When I look back, although the road travel was rough, it has been a blast so far!  Can't wait to see what the Lord has next in his plan!  Looks like we'll be down here for a bit.  The heat is way too intense for the horses on a day after day basis. Bob Skelding told us it would be too hot soon.  He was right.  Bob and Casey come right after God in this whole journey so they'll be glad for the stay.  But I'm sure we'll get plenty of days to do short travels.  There are still alot of prayers out there!
We'll have to travel by vehicle to see our peeps (people)!
Today is going to be a great sunshiny day!  Hopefully I can get a few things accomplished.  I seem so scattered!  I feel like I could sleep for days!  Good thing there's no T.V. reception or couch!  LOL!
Mark's mom is now on the internet and I see she left us a comment!  Hope you all had a great Easter too!  Sorry the phone call got cut off.  We hit a dead zone.
Well, off to the busy work.  You all have a wonderful day in the Lord!
I also meant to post thank you all for your prayers for our sis-in-law!  Results are in and there is NO cancer!!!  WOO-WOO!  What an awesome God we serve!
Anybody else have any praise reports?  We always wonder how everyone is doing?  Because we know that God answers prayer!
God bless and keep on praying!

Days 196, 197, 198 & 199

Hi all!
Not alot new.  Last night we got to go to a "Secret Church".  If any of you checked out that book I was talking about (Radical), the pastor that wrote the book did it via live feed.  He learned of them (secret churches) when he was out doing mission work in the worst areas of the world.  Somebody will pick you up, blindfold you and take you to a room where there are Christains waiting to study the Word.  We didn't have to go through all that, but he did.  The people there are so hungry for the Word that they would stay 12 and 16 hours.  We were at the church from 6 pm, until 1 am.  It was awesome!  And what a teaching!!  Best Good Friday service ever!  All about suffering and it's place in our lives.  Great stuff.
Other than that, the horses are good.  Lots of space.  They already ate the grass.  But good.
I have a prayer request from Crickette.  Her pastor had triple bypass surgery, so he'll need lots of healing, health and pain free prayer. We can hold him up!
Comments:
Ron & Thelma...what's up with the flats?  Stuff in the road?  Hope you're home safe now!  We are going to stay and let our horses break.  The heat is rough on them.
Crickette...gotcha covered!
So, that's about it for today.  I hope you all have a blessed and happy Resurrection Sunday!  The best day in the history of mankind!
God bless!

Short video #1

Days 192, 193, 194 & 195

Sorry for the delay!  We finally moved!  Only 6 miles but......  Good thing it was short, too, because that old fat girl, Casie, is waaaaaay out of shape!  Plus the heat?  She was pretty sure she was going to die!  But, we got here.  We are staying on Keith Haynes 5 acres, by his dad's house on Wenasoga Rd.  There is a camping trailer here so we have been busy trying to get water and electric all hosed and wired.  We're getting there.  The dogs are VERY confused.  Sugar Rae runs into the wagon every time she goes out.
I cannot go any further until I give thanks to the people at the North Corinth Baptist Church!  We have been there since the beginning of February.  We didn't feel that God was leading us any farther at the moment and Bob needed a rest and some weight. We have no words to express how much we appreciated the stay, the hospitality, the Word, just everything.  We have made some friends for life.  Thank you all!
I am in the process of completely emptying the wagon.  Man, does it need cleaning!!  Good thing nobody ever accused me of being a neat freak.  We would have never gotten off our road!  Getting the picture?  Yes, it's a mess.  Sand and dust and what's that???  coffee grounds and, etc....
Did I mention that the girls on horseback made it to Houston?  Sure did!  1300 miles!  They were raising money for water wells in Haiti.  $15,000.00 to be exact! That will make 3 fresh water wells.  Their names are Brandy and Ashley Nelsey.  Brandy is 23 and Ashley is 21.  That was quite an undertaking for those young ladies!  I don't think I could do it on horseback, but then...they think we're crazy for taking this wagon on the road!  Great girls! Great job!  They, also, lived on faith throughout their journey and are on their way home.  Everyone is getting a ride home, girls and horses and puppy, Tae.
I still have to post those videos that I took of the reenactment guys.  I started once but it was really slow and I got very impatient.
We did get one prayer request on our way over here!  We met Anthony and Regina Graham.  Regina would like prayer about this strange weather.  Amen to that!  If you remember way back when we started, the horses had learned that if they saw a shade spot, they would head for it and stop.  Well, that's how we met the Graham's.  Bob was borrowing their tree out in front.  Those horses are too much sometimes and who says their not thinking animals!?
That's it for now.  I'll catch up some more tomorrow.
Comments:
Crickette...thanks, it was fun seeing them.  Thank you for all of your prayers
Sandi...Your welcome.  I always try to address our comments because we so enjoy reading them.  It's like getting mail in our world ;)
Ok!  Keep the faith!  Have a great day!

Good morning again! We are rained out of our move today, so I am going to post some of the great pictures from yesterday!

Pretty cool, huh?  There are a few more.  3 short videos just for you D Dodd!  See if you can hear him commanding his oxen.  I hope so!!
I'll have to open another post though, to make sure they will all publish.

Day 190

Good morning!
A couple of prayer requests!
Shawn Arnold needs prayer for his knee.  Several surgeries, still a problem.
Bob Anderson will be having surgery on that broken leg today!  No fun.
The ladies that are on horseback from Michigan to Houston are almost there!!  Their mission is to raise money for water wells in Haiti.  We traveled with them twice along our journey, one week each time.  We hope we were as much of a blessing to them as they were to us.  And the God story that goes with that travel is this...  When they asked if we were willing to pair up with them, I voiced my concern that we would have to find places to stay that could take 7 horses and 4 people.  That's aLOT of space!!!  Well, we never missed a beat.  God provided everything for all of us!  Hay, pasture, accomodations for the girls...everything.  We pray their journey ends well and soon!  Good job soldierettes!!
We will be starting our move today.  Probably go in the morning!  This has been such a nice place that we hate to leave it!  We will be heading for the 5 acres that was first offered.  We have beenn able to get water and electric in place so we'll be all good!  Hope we get a signal out there so we can still blog!!!
Yesterday was entertaining.  First, the dog (Bear) pulled me off the front of the wagon!  Ouch!!  Bruises and sore but, gonna make it!  I'm too old and heavy to fall square on my bottom from 3 feet up!  But then again, that's seems to be where most of the padding is!  LOL!!
Then...we moved the horses.  We always bring them to the wagon while we do that.  Mark brushed them and fly sprayed them while I moved fence.  Good Heavens it looks like we have an extra horse in all that winter coat they shed off!  So, anyway, Casie (Miss short attention span) has a habit of kicking the side of the wagon.  With Mark right there she's not too bad but as soon as he walked away, she kicked the door off the outside box!!!  Then, apparently, she decided rubbing on the cover would be a good idea.  I can now see sunlight through a bunch of little tiny holes!!!  More repairs to make.  Oh well, we can get to our next spot and take it from there.  Yikes, that girl.  She also has taken to flipping the 25 gallon water tank.  Hmmmmmm...do you think she's bored?!?!?!
And yet, all is well.
This morning I am going to go down to the church to see the soldiers come through.  This weekend is the 150th anniversary of the civil war battle of Shiloh.  Shiloh is about 25 miles from here so the Corinth soldiers will be walking out there.  They are stopping for water and food here.  I'm excited to see them.  The reenactment will be Saturday and Sunday.  Awesome stuff!
So, with that...I better get moving so I can get down there for pictures.  Hope I get some great ones!
God bless and have a great day!!

Days 187, 188 & 189

Good morning!
I have a prayer request for my sister-in-law!  Her name is Sharen.  She is having surgery today to remove some pre cancer cells.  So prayers for her comfort and healing through that.  Then...they will send tissue to the lab to check the deep cells.  Can we all pray together that everything comes out clean and shiny???  Thanks so much!
Our friend here, David Dodd, had knee replacement surgery Monday am.  Please pray for a fast healing and no pain!  Not much keeps this brother down!
I got a text the other day from our friend, Adam Day.  It was a picture of an over 4 foot long timber rattler that he said a state worker found about a mile up the road from us.  GROSS!!!!  I REALLY detest serpents!  When we first moved to MI, one chased me out of my garden.  Ok.  So that was a grass/gardener snake, but still!!!!  I limped for a month from jumping the fence!!  LOL  Then when my grandson, Ryan, got big enough (you know, about 4 years old), he would come with me with a hoe or shovel to kill them for me.  Or...stopping the lawnmower and dropping the blades all the way down worked just as well!  I know....SISSY!!!!  Oh well.
We are going to look at 5 acres today (this afternoon) and see if we can park out there for a bit.  This is a different 5 acres that we are going to move to in the interim.  All in all, we'll be moving in baby steps here soon!  You know what that means!  More people!!  I LOVE meeting people!  The Lord put you all in our path and I'm sure He has more!  Doing His work is good stuff!
So, I'm off and running for the day.  All the Monday errands are waiting for me (I've been without transportation).  So, have a great day.  Hold on to your faith, and pray hard!
Comments:
Crickette...Thanks for your prayers and the mc tip!
Jesse...Thanks for the video
Sandi...Thank you for your prayers
Cloe's...Thanks so much and travel safe!

Day 186

Hi all!
What a beautiful day it is!
We got some new prayer requests this morning!  From Gina, in Chalmer, IN.  When we met her, she drove 2 towns over to get us some oats and then met us back on the highway to deliver them!  Such a blessing.
Well, she and her famikly are being attacked from all sides!  She needs prayer for her mom.  Mom is 85 and set for surgery on April 10th.  The Dr. asked if she was sure about this and she just doesn't want to end up a burden so she said yes.  God's will is our prayer.  Gina's brother just had an accident on his harley.  Her daughter is very ill, and she (Gina) is just struggling with it all.  Gina could use some good strength, peace, and comfort prayers.  In my opinion, that family must have a victory coming their way to be so under fire!
Isn't that the way it is in life?  Well, that's how we build strength.  Going through the tough things.
Thanks in advance for your prayer support!  That's why we love yall!  Your so faithful.
We'll be moving those two grocery hounds again today.  We put them in a really nice grassy spot and WHAM!!  Mowed down to nothing!  Good thing we are sitting in a HUGE grassy spot!  It's so good for Bob to graze all day.  He's doing much better.  Now if that mare would stop be snotty to him, he'dd be all set :)  They have a birthday in April!!  The 3rd, I think.  They'll be 9 years old!  They don't even know what a service they have been to the Lord!  Wouldn't it be nice if we all just knew our master and went and did whatever He said?  Whenever, wherever, knowing that he'll give us everything we need when we need it?  Well, we surely know that!  But without a doubt or worry ever?  Hmmmmmmmm...maybe the blinders????
Anyway, off to do chores.
God bless and have a great day!
Comments:
Cindy...thanks for the prayers, he's getting thru it all.
Terri...hard stuff sometimes.  But we've learned to just wait.  Folks like you keep us encouraged!
Ed...Boy, that seems like forever ago!  Thanks for following and...point taken.  Thanks for the traffic tip, I never even thought about that!
Sandi...Thank you so much.  I will definitely work harder to get the blogging done!  Thanks for following!  And the encouragement!

Days 180, 181, 182, 183, 184 &185

Hi there!
Had a busy week.  Working on the next stop.  So many things to do when you live "simply"!  It's a LOT more physical, which probably = more healthy.
You know, no matter where we land or when we land, we have learned a HUGE lesson about living in this world.  We sure don't need all the stuff we think that we do.  If you get a chance, there is a book named, "Radical".  By David Platt.  Awesome book.  One of the studies that Mark goes to is studying on it.  It's about what's really important about being a follower of Jesus.  Pretty candid in parts, but real.  Check it out.
!!!***Our newest grandbaby is a boy!!!!!   And his name is Isaac.  I got to see a video of him!  LOL!  Now THERE'S something we didn't have back in the day!!!  His mom & dad are sooooo excited!  Well, we all are, but, you know what I mean!  Anyway, only 165 days into it and we can watch him suck his thumb :).  How awesome is that?
Our friend Bob has done a couple of surgeries now with that leg.  Tammy and Bob thank you so much for your prayers.  They are life saving in all matters.
The horses are good.  Bob seems to like me better now that I feed him 2 out of 3 times a day.  Apparently, the way to a geldings heart is through his stomach!!!   Sound familiar?? Ha ha!
There are alot of carts down here.  They are pulled with oxen, mules and horses, but mostly mules.  I think maybe the mules are heartier in this climate.  But you can NOT find a lick of alphalfa hay!  Too bad too, because when we were able to get it, it worked wonders for Bob's belly and weight.  Must not be able to grow it in red clay!?
Well, that's about it for now.  I would write more often, but like I told my friend Linda, nobody wants to read the daily...I darned my socks today...stuff.  The Lord will tell us when it's time.  Somebody said to Mark, this is where the real faith comes in.  Waiting.  Feeling like you're hanging out there without a Word.  Just waiting for instructions.  I think he may have been right.  Because the first thing this human brain thinks is...did we do something wrong?  Where's our lead?  But...faith tells us, He's still right here.  Just be still and wait and listen.
God bless!

Days 176, 177, 178 & 179

Hi all!
Still here!  Casie is looking GREAT and Bob is finally showing good improvement!
We have a new prayer request from Indiana.  Good folks and friends we stayed with, Tammy & Bob.
Bob was riding horses today (his birthday) when he got thrown and is in surgery for a compound fracture of his right ankle/lower leg.  Both bones!  Please pray for his pain and his quick healing!
Love you all!
God bless!

Day 175

Thought it might be time to look this over again!

The Realization ; By Mark

This blog is not about preaching, there are Pastors-Priests-and Ministers for that. But we have learned two things that have set us on this journey and they should be shared from the start. 1) The great commission...the action plan...are we doing all we can to share the LOVE OF GOD" with the world? Or are we hoarding it to ourselves and only sharing with those who "need him the most or need to get saved" and those who might not laugh or ridicule us and blow us off. When the love of God truly is for all to share. Are we doing all we can to spread that word?
2)And are we truly trusting God to meet our daily needs? (Matthew 6:31-34) Do we need a pension? Do we absolutely have to have a 401K. If we don't will we automatically become a burden to those who love and care for us, when we are old? Won't God feed and clothe us everyday (Mathew 6:25-30 )? His word says it will! So do we believe or not? Do we need hundreds of thousands of $ in the bank? Hasn't God remained true all of my life...even while I denied his existence? Why would God not care for us now while we carried out the great commission? Took us months of frustration before we accepted that!
That is a very hard one for me as a man...I am the provider for my family and it is my responsibility as the head of my house! Then God whispered "am I not your father?" Didn't Jesus say "come to me like the children? Where is my faith? And once again I had made this whole thing (providing) about me and not about God. Didn't God put his children in the desert and give them manna daily (that would rot daily so they could not save it) (Exodus 16:3-4). So God, with love said to depend upon Him and have faith. I always knew all these thing...but now I have to take flight and cut the lines to the parachute!
For newer followers that never took the trip all the way back to the beginning, this is good stuff!  There's more way back there too!  Enjoy!

Casie & Bob
Hi everyone...been a while since we wrote. Just been so busy trying to get ready and learn-learn & learn some more. I wanted to take a minute to write a bit about Bob & Casey before I forget the trials & tribulations involved in getting where we are today.
When the team came to us they were accustomed to a life of vacation. They were Amish broke but due to the poor physical health of their previous caretakers they didn't see much work. Bottom line is Bob & Casey were used to pretty much doing whatever they wanted to do most of their days. When they first came they would not even lead well with a lead rope. They would race ahead of you-yank their heads down to get a bite of grass...pretty much doing whatever they wanted...except paying attention to you. They are over 2,200lbs apiece and they knew it.
The first time we geared them up with their tack Deb & I struggleed to remember how to do it...the reigns(sp?) giving us the biggest problems. Once hitched we wanted to walk them to an old tractor tire and hitch them so they had something to pull. (our covered wagon is still under construction and the reach is cut so we can make it longer). Well that was adventure in itself. They swung their butts out away from each other and stood there looking at us. Hummmmmmm now what. This is a bigger dilemma than you can imagine...I stared at them and they stared at me. I stared at them and they stared at me (I think they were saying to themselves n"how do you like us now stupid?) I told them :"turn around & GIT UP. They stared at me...inwardly chuckling to themselves I'm sure.I walked toward them and tried to get them turned around (facing forward) No luck ...Deb finally grabbed them from the front & got them headed in the right direction (I have since learned we could have hitched their butts together with a couple of rings on their tack...but being new I had NO IDEA!) Once they were hooked up the real comedy started. I'm sitting in a tractor tire hooked to the back of these two giants with my face 4 feet from these massive hooves. Now mind you I drove them at the previous caretakers...for short stints and saw some of the same problems ...but I figured it was me (new guy) and all would work out. So anyway I'm sitting in the suicide trap and trying to look and sound confident "git up now" (did I tell ya Deb hates when I say that? Says I sound like a cowboy and I ain't no cowboy! I can't help it I love this stuff!) And off we go...trouble is we are not going where the reigns are telling them to go. Casey is throwing her head (she is on the left) and pulling herself away from Bob. (there is no front hook-up on this tire pull just the evener in the back. Each reign is hooked to both horses. So the farther she pulls the more she is ripping Bob's head around. Over 4,000lbs of horse within 5 minutes is out of control. I'm freaking out and trying to talk them down and sound confident and calm. I can not turn them or make them go where I want them to go. Casey is really acting up now and causing Bob to freak. He has no idea what Casey is doing...what I want him to do so he just starts backing up...which freaks casey totally out...not to mention me because I am in the suicide seat! Ok stop everything...regroup...I'm mad now...(probably really scared but ya know guys don't get scared they get mad! chuckle-chuckle...I'm working on that Lord!) Alright we're starting again and just going forward...Casey is now pushing right into Bob the only way we can go is right(gee)...I thought ok-ok lets just keep moving forward for a minute...we'll burn off some energy and all will settle down...uh-huh...then they dragged me threw the big fire pit. You know the ones surrounded with cement blocks. The tire flew up and I was grabbing air and wishing for ground (my mind flashed scenes of utter destruction before me and I realized this is usually where I tell the grand babies "hands-up!" you know...like the roller coaster)...my butt found it first and then my body thought it would be fun to just roll a few times. I won't go into how that feels on an already 55 year old body...suffice it to say I had steam pouring from my ears. I looked at Bob & Casey...they stared at me looking ever so innocent ( what? they were chuckling to themselves...I just know it!" Ok " I admitted to Deb who was having a good chuckle after she knew I was not real hurt... "the horses have prabably had enough for the first day, lets get em put up and hit the showers".
So the next few days we I worked on the wagon and pondered our situation. I had to be able to hook the horses front and rear...but the wagon could not be moved right now. Why was Casey behaving badly? These guys might be broke but they had seen little if any daily work. I'm thinking not often and not for a while. In addition to all that we have struggled with way below normal temps and rain daily by the gallon. The horses were living in a foot of mud and there was nothing we could do about it. We were all living in a swamp. Everyone is miserable. Then one day I talk to Bill Leach (God bless you Bill you are a blessing from God to us) at church who we buy our hay from and I know has horses. I explain our dilemma to them and he says he has a buggy/cart we can borrow. He brings it over for us and I notice it has no evener in the back so we rip ours off the tractor tire. We get the team geared-up in their tack and harnesses and Deb grabs the reigns to ground walk them to the cart, Casey starts right in where they left off & in no time instead of being side by side they are looking at each other and ignoring Deb...she gets frustrated and tells me to help...I grab the reigns and have her try to lead them to the cart...Casey goes the opposite way she is leading...jerking the bit in Bob's mouth so hard he starts backing up and trips going backward. Needless to say...guess who is standing back there behind him??? OH YEAH...2,200lbs coming over backwards 4 legs straight in the air right at me. I will not bore you with the visions of death that danced before me...it is just fortunate that old fat men still have quick reflexes or I would have been squashed like a bug. Neither of us have ever seen something so huge actually fall backwards and go head over heals...thank goodness the ground was mush..because it is scary. Of course Deb's first words are "Is Bob alright?"....I tell myself "be still my racing heart you are alive & yes I think she still loves you too". We decided the horses had enough for that day and put them up for the night.
For the sake of keeping this long story a little shorter let's jump to getting their feet done. Suffice it to say I am getting no where with Casey. Bob is the rock and the only thing keeping her attention anywhere close to where we want it. God in his infinite wisdom had a new guy at the church, and he is a ferrier. His name is Dale (and I will get his last name and business info) and he has also been a blessing from God.

Days 169, 170, 171, 172, 173 & 174

Hi there!
Sorry for all the missed days!  I never even had the computer out!
We have, once again, had our share of rain!  A couple of days it was like monsoon season out there for Pete's sake!
Next week we will be moving over to Wenasoga.  Not far.  But there we can do some wagon modifications and maybe set up a "southern" home base.  There is an RV there that we can use while we're there and it has plumbing!  It would be nice to travel a little lighter by only taking our seasonal gear and not EVERYTHING we own all the time!  Good place to be in the winter too!!
Cowboybob!!!  How've you been?!  Long time no hear!!  Glad your still out there/here!  Patience...that's what we're learning.  Patience.
There is alot of opportunity for our work for the Lord in this area.  Lots of guys with buggies!  Had another one stop over Saturday! Small cart with a paint pulling.  Very nice.  I'll have to pull up my pics and post them.
I have alot of pictures.  They'll be in the book for sure.
This break will also give Mark a chance to start putting some of that (book) together too.  He did start once.  There's just always something to do and people still stop to meet us since we're right here off the highway.  Gotta get the Lord's work done first!  It's all about the people.
We have a couple of new prayer requests.
Melody Clayton is in the middle of chemo and radiation treatments and could use alot of supportive and healing prayer.
Ashley is struggling with personal issues.  Her heart is very sad and she needs encouragement!  She has done the right things, but bosses have not and it ended badly.
Well, God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow!
God bless and we'll be praying for you all!

Day 168

Hello, again!
Well, Mark gave his notice at his job.  That means we will be moving over to the other spot soon to watch Bob grow!  He's in good shape, just not ready for a long haul.  We will probably do some short trips with him soon!  Get those muscles all ready for the cross country stuff!  Plus we'll be doing a little farming/gardening to boot!  Good healthy stuff!
If you noticed, I added a link.  This is the man that Mark and I went with to Israel.  I know we've talked with some of you about our great adventures there in '05 & '07.  Check it out.  It's a brand new website and has alot of good information in it.  And for those of you that want to "someday" go there, well...........Mr. Hodges is awesome!
We had a visit from Robin Clayton the other evening.  He told us about the church buying this land that is called Halelujah Hill.  The vision for this is evangelism!  How perfect!  In May there is going to be some music and saving going on up here!  Good stuff!  Better get busy moving the "apples" ;)
Rachel is asking for prayer for those darn headaches.  They just don't want to go away.
We thank you for your prayers for Mark, as well.
2 Ruths' need healing prayer.
Comments:
Jones'...awesome!  Stay in touch more!
Cindy...you guys are always up to something fun!
Joan...baby in Sept.  We'll eventually get back to MI. But not to live.
Terri...agreed.When the Lord says go!  We'll be gone for sure!  And thank you for your prayers.
That's about it!  Horses are good, dogs are good, we...have issues.  Chest for Mark, chest and cough (again) for me.  This too shall pass.  Thank God!
God bless you all and have a great day in the Lord!

Days 164, 165, 166, & 167

Good afternoon!
Hope you all are well!
Well, the storms missed us but hit a little north of here.  We'll be in prayer for all those folks!
Saturday was fun.  Only other animals the showed were Rob & Jeff, the oxen.  But with them came Bill and Ponytail and their families!  The kids got to hit a few balls and Bill drove the oxen and the horses for a little bit.  And of course D Dodd drove them out here!
Plenty of room for lots of folks.
It looks like we are going to be moving to the spot that we were offered by Keith.  He's got 5 acres and an RV trailer that we can stay in.  That way we can get Bob & Casie all beefed up and ready to continue on the road journey.  We miss it.  We miss meeting and talking with people.  We have met so many great ones along the way, and I know that God has lots more for us.
Mark is still working with Tommy.  Meaning....lots of trips to the laundry mat!  We only have so many clothes, you know ;) but that's ok.  We know that we don't ever want to be a part of the "American Dream" again.  Live simply, love God, no debt, just enough with more to give, and share the best news ever!!  Ahhhhhhhhhh...sounds good.
Yesterday was catch up day and today is go back for the forgotten things day!  LOL!!!  Even with a list!!!
We are still up on Hallelujah Hill for the time being, loving the people we've met here.
Other than that, not too much new.
We need prayers for Mark, health issues!
And for Denise, safe travels.  Always scary alone!
We'll talk longer tomorrow, but for now...
God bless each one of you and we keep you all in our prayers!  We thank God for you all!

Days 162 & 163

Hi all!
Not much shakin' but the weather!  It is HOT!  With a high chance of tornadoes!  The only draw back of the south.  But...what ya gonna do?  My prayer today is for the weather to clear.
Other than that, Bible study tonight and all is well.
Except Bob.  He is out there yelling for his oats.  Now that I feed them in the morning, I realize that he thinks he is part rooster.  He will stand out there at between 6:30 & 7 and "talk" to the wagon.  What a goof.  Oh well, that means his tummy is good and he can get fat again!  Only this time, we'll turn the fat to muscle as it comes!
Supposed to have a couple of oxen and maybe even some strange horses up here tomorrow for some exercise and fun!  We'll see what the weather does tho.  Wet field is no bueno for that!
That's about it!  I'll keep you posted on wind and cart rides tomorrow!
As usual, I believe we are the most blessed folks around!  God is so good!!
Have a great day in the Lord!  God bless!

Days 160 & 161

Hello, again!
Today (Wednesday) is cloudy and overcast.  It's supposed to rain more today, but the storm missed us last night!  Windy and a little rain but no storm.
We went down for showers last night and when we were done, Robin (Clayton) knocked on the door and invited us over to the fellowship hall for pinto beans, corn bread, & sweet tea!  Then Glen (Houpt) asked if we ever had southern fried corn bread?  Of course we had not, so he gave us his. Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!  Thanks guys!!  You know you gotta love a culture that fries just about everything!!  And still live long healthy lives!!!!  Hmmmm...the north might want to have a look at that!  The rat race is the most unhealthy environment ever created!
Bob and Casie are doing fine and loving their space.  Finally hit the hay a little.  Bear and Sugar are enjoying their lives as bed potatoes.  Glad we have them all along for the company.
Funny story.  I went to the laundry mat the other day.  There was an attendant there reading a magazine quietly.  I was looking for a fish place I had seen earlier so I asked her if she was familiar with the area.  We chatted for a bit before she asked what gave us the idea to do this trip?  So, of course, I told her.  I said, the Lord.  She said, what?  I repeated that the Lord had sent us on this journey.  She just looked at me and said uh-huh.  Then she sent a text.  That was it!  Her phone never stopped jingling again the rest of the time I was there!  And our conversation was over.  LOL!!!  I can just imagine what those text were about!  We were probably every kind of crazy!  But, maybe she was just speechless! Ha Ha!  With all the different reactions we get, I just thought it was funny.  Maybe you had to be there ;)
Comments:
Jenny...missed us, thank God!  Miss you guys!
Rachel...Safe and sound.  We have a good look out!
So, chores today, church tonight.  Sure is great being where we can hear the Word regularly!
God bless.  Talk to you tomoorrow!

Days 158 & 159

Howdy!
All's well in Corinth, MS!  Had a couple of busy days!  Sunday is always busy with 2 church services and playing catch up and keep up!  Too busy with Mark at work all day M-F!  Mondays are always busy with make up work!
We moved Bob and Casie (actual correct spelling from her registry papers) to a much larger spot in the field.  Got them a new round bale of hay but they are still working on the grass!  Barely even touched the hay yet!  That's odd for Bob the hay baby! :)  Oh well, when the grass is gone.....
We are still meeting people here on the hill!  Great place to be!  Still waiting on the Lord for direction!  And taking each day, one at a time.
God Bless!

Days 155, 156, & 157

HI!!!!!  Looks like Google worked out it's own kinks!  YAY!!!
Let's see...things have changed a little bit.  You'll remember Tommy Callahan.  He is the gentleman that directed us here.  Well, he stopped by Tuesday evening and asked Mark if he wanted to go to work in the morning!  So he's been off early every morning since Wednesday.  See?  God lead us all this way, and then for some reason, unknown to us, we just felt like suddenly, there was no more.  Now we knew from the start that we would be resting up when we got this far, but honestly, we've been here way longer than we ever thought we would be.  Thank the good Lord for being parked in such an awesome spot with a church full of folks that understand "waiting on the Lord".  So, I was thinking the other day, when Mark got a job, and people started telling us they were looking for a place for us of our own, God knows better than us what He wants.  I looked at Bob, and yes he is starting to gain some weight back, but not enough for any distance traveling.  So...maybe it's him that God is helping here.  We know that the pastor has told us to stay as long as we need to, but after all these miles, we start to feel like we don't want to wear out our welcome.  You know what I mean??  I also think that if we put Bob back on the road full time, we might just kill him.  He really does need the rest.  He's antsy enough and healthy enough, don't get me wrong, but just some general fat would do that boy wonders!
Sooooo...if any one in the area knows of about 5 acres that we could rent or stay at, close by, with water and electric and maybe a small shed or barn, please let us know.  We are just praying for God's will and not our own at this point.  He will tell us what to do next when it's time.
I have taken on the morning chores with Mark gone for the day.  So far, so good.  I still don't move those two by myself, so anything beyond feeding, watering, and talking to them, they have to wait for.  I don't know if I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Bob finally did kick me.  That was pleasant.  Both feet!  God kept me from anything beyond a good knot and bruises, thank You Lord.  Anyway, I am very cautious around him but have taken over leading him and feeding him (when Mark's here).  Maybe this way he'll get the picture that I'm one of the bosses here!  He's such a snot!
So, I thank everyone for your prayers for us and ask that you will pray with us for God's will in our next step.  This we know, the journey is not over.  We both feel that.  So, stick with us and God willing the blog will continue working so we can continue to post prayer requests!
There is one.  Ruth.  A man said she lives down the road from here and she is just in need of prayer.  Salvation would be the best for her.  God can fix everything else then too.
And for Mark.  He's working in a shop at a young man's job so if you can pray for the aches and pains to go quickly, we wouold appreciate that.
Also, Brother Bill's wife has been sick for some time.  She's showing improvement, but I think with some extra prayers, she could be healed!
Thanks, again and God bless!

Days 144, 145, 146, & 147

Hi All!!
We're still here on Hallelujah Hill!  We are so blessed to have been directed here.  All are getting some rest and lots of the Word!  We have been to a couple of churches with folks we met here.  The Callahan's have taken us to their church, and the Day's have taken us to their church, and the church right here is within walking distance so we have been taking advantage of all the services we can get to.  Mr. David Dodd has had Mark out early and late at various men's groups that he attends and we are so happy to be among a great Christain community!  Thank you all.
Bob and Casey are on their 4th spot here.  It just keeps raining!  Soggy, soggy ground.  They are happy, tho!  We've been very diligent about keeping that fence hot since their escape!  Chasing them in the rain and mud is just no fun!
We still meet people.  We are parked right off the highway so people can see us as they drive down 45.  We're right off the exit!  This is the place that the Vietnam Memorial Wall will be in June.  It was here last year, as well.  That's pretty cool!
The weather has been so-so.  It got downright cold for a couple of days!  A little flurry of snow, some sleet, lots of rain...but today was warmer. Whew!
So, we don't have much going on in the way of adventure while we're still.  Claude and Jean brought over and dropped off an excercise cart today so we can hitch up the kids and wear a little extra energy off so you might want to stay tuned in case they forgot their jobs and we have some "retraining" yucks!!  But after 1000 miles...they probably have it down pat.  We'll see.  I just hope the church doesn't think we're moving in on them!  Just as soon as the Lord says MOVE...we'll be on our way!
Jerry and Geradine Sweat brought us some hay just in the knick of time the other day!  Adam Day brought us some a couple of days before that and it was gone.  So, Keith brought a few bales yesterday and today we were able to locate and buy a small round bale!  So we're set if we need to go.  Bales to load for the road.  God always provides!
We need to send up some prayers for Rick Hodgin.  He lost his mother in January and is struggling a bit.  He needs some peace and comfort.  We are so sorry for your loss, Rick.
We also had alot of company today!  The ladies that we met last night brought us over an awesome lunch!  They all home school their kids so the kids came too!  Bob and Casey loved them and their handsful of green grass from outside the pen!  They were, Reba Hancock, she asks for prayer for her husband Billy, Amanda Harris with Karlee, Mary Ellen, & Joshua.  Barbara, Ashley, ans Aylah Chelmowski.  Ans Patricia, Brenna, and Seth Stephenson.  Thanks for liunch and the visit!
Can we all also pray for C.B. III?  He is having some health issues, the most recent being knee surgery and sleep apnea combined with the heart stopping now and then when he stops breathing in his sleep.
Thank you for joining us in prayer for all these needs!  You all are faithful, for sure!
Comments:
Cindy...It WAS cold!!!  Down to rain now!
Rach...keep healing!  We do meet lots of people just sitting here, don't we?
Rick...The Lord is bringing your relief.  He knows your pain.
pastor Jaime...we heard about that festival.  Today we learned that at one point it was shut down because the slug burgers were NOT FDA approved!  But it got all straight and back on the horizon!
Well, that's it for tonight.  We have a few invites for tomorrow so we'll see what God has in the mix for us!  Should be fun whatever we do!  Working for the Lord is just an awesome job!  He's a great boss whose only requirement is that we mention His name and we'll do fine!  What could be better?!?!?!
So, good night and God bless you all!  (Y'all)

Day 141 - 143

I think I have the "days" right...I'll have to ask my beautiful wife. The cold has descended upon us for a couple of days. Down in the teens last night and the wind was howling like an ol' wolf. I had to force myself out from under the covers this morning. But the sun was up and I knew Bob & Casey would be staring at the wagon. So I eased my warm feet to the cold floor (yikes) and peaked out the curtain....sure enuff! Staring at the wagon like they hadn't eaten in a week! So I turned the stove on to perk some coffee, got dressed, and wandered out with Bear and Sugar Ray. Ice on the water and a frozen hose. I had no idea this was coming. We haven't had any TV for a few weeks and forgot to get on line and look. Lucky I always pour a couple of buckets at night, for mornings just like this.
Nice thing about being down south, it will warm back up in a few days. We are still parked. We have water-electric-plenty of space for Bob & Casey and a loaned vehicle. This is a great resting spot. Two weeks rest does not visibly seem to have added weight to Bob. But if you feel his side his ribs are covered. And if you poke him in his front haunches he has layered up a little. Does that make sense? Well it took him 4 months, lots of miles, and an ulcer to take it off him. I don't reckon it is going to return any too quick.
If we stay much longer, a good brother offered an exercise cart to get the kids hooked up. A little exercise would be good for all three of us. I have to go on the hay search again. Anybody local who is reading this we sure could use some help. I have the horses about weaned off the alfalfa (thanks Josh, that was great hay) and eating some grass again. They just don't care for the Bermuda grass...but when in Rome...
They have a tradition down here...well I don't know if it's really a tradition...but...they have this burger. It's called a slug burger. Doesn't have much meat in it, it's mainly a dough of sorts with stuff in it. Nobody is disclosing the ingredients. It's all very secret and hush-hush! But it's fried...so how bad could it be? chuckle-chuckle!! I'm a firm believer that anything fried is better! 'course that's probably why I had 6 stents in my heart at 47 years old! They are great! A little onion, pickles and tomato and presto! Slug Burger! Ain't America a great place? Betcha! The whole town serves these things.  The name did NOT have anything to do with the ingredients...that much we determined before hand.  They used to cost a nickel and a nickel was referred to as a slug! Not a nickel anymore, but the name lingers on.
We have been gettin' spiritually fed since we got here. Three different churches and lots of great fellowship. So I guess our Lord has given each of us what we needed. The dogs have lots of room to run. The horses are getting fed and rested. And we are enjoying the rest and the peace of our Lord.
I have been stressing on getting moving. I had actually planned to leave a couple of times. But something has kept us here. Just in the habit of moving and ministering. Then we decided to look for a place to rest...and prayed for it...and now the Lord has provided it to us. Yet my brain is telling me to move. But the Holy Spirit has not prodded us. So I should be thankful and relaxing. Listening to and for God, and not talking, will probably be a life long struggle for me. Grin! I'm such a bag of flesh!
We met Whitney Yeager, and she has asked us to pray for James Sanders. They say he has cancer and have given him 2 months to live. Please pray for him and those that love him. Thanks
Please pray for Rachel's recovery after surgery.
And if I could be so bold...would you please join Deb and I in prayer for our brother-in-law Bob who is suffering from gout.
Would you please pray for Sophie? She is a 3 year old girl who has a temp of 106. Thank you much.
We met Rose McCormick. Her husband brought us a blackberry wine cake and it was moist and delicious. And she brought Bob & Casey a bale of hay. We are so thankful for both! She asked that we hold her up in our prayers. she has a few unspoken needs. God knows what they are.
Well I know there's not much new as we slowed down. We thank y'all for still keeping track of us and praying for the needs of others. Which is the most important section in any of our blogs.
watch for miracles, they happen every day. May God get all the glory. May the peace of our Lord be with each of you & yours. Talk to you again soon.

PS: Hope you folks don't mind that we don't write daily. We will again when we travel. We are spending extra time in the word and prayer. And I have started our 1st book....year 1.
HA!!  You are all required to purchase at least one copy!
Thanks!
